I am supporting more and more people in their efforts to change the way they feel about themselves and food in general. For many it is putting to bed all the harmful destructive habits and negative thoughts patterns that they have learned, not just about food but about themselves. It takes so much energy to fight that daily battle. This life changing process isn't just about loosing weight, it is about unblocking emotional issues and channelling that energy into positive motivation! Make the changes, build confidence and self esteem - why embark on the journey?

Because you are worth it, that's why!

Before we go any further, let me just tell you a little about myself -  all my life I have battled with my own weight. One of the reasons I trained as a therapist was not only to help myself but others like me. I know that there is no miracle cure, the changes have to come from within, we all have the power to change, we just have to find the key.

There have been times when I felt that I was in a very lonely place, no one knew what I was going through, only me. The truth of the matter is, there are thousands of people out there struggling just like me (and you). Every time I am able to support someone to emerge from their own struggle, I am inspired and uplifted!

My journey is continuing, it has been bumpy at times and I am sure it will be in the future but I know I have the love within me, the strength and the belief to see me through. At one time there were a few words that I could never say with true belief and confidence about myself and they are:

'I love myself and who I am!'

When you are able to say these words about yourself and truly believe them, your journey isn't at an end,

It has only just begun!

Enough about me - if you are reading this page you are obviously interested in making the commitment to change your association with food and your eating habits (notice I never use the 'D' word) which is great, but please remember there are no quick fixes, to loosing weight in a healthy way it will take time - I always recommend at least 2 appointment sessions, but for long term weight management I would highly recommend regular top up sessions until you reach the weight that's healthy for you.

Hypnotherapy and the other techniques I use are very powerful whether you just want a bit more motivation to loose
a few pounds or you have far deeper emotional issues to
work through - with emotional issues it is never really about
what we eat!

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of diet books (oops used the 'D' word, sorry!) out there! Confusing or what!
Let's break it down to a simple fact:

If you consume more calouries than you burn off over a prolonged length of time you will gain weight - your body stores the fat, the longer in has been in storage the longer it will take to loose it.

It really is that simple.  Notice, I say over a 'prolonged' period, some people do have a tendancy to put weight on quicker than others and those people (me included) have to be a little more careful.

So, it stands to reason, if you exercise just a little more and eat healthily, over time you will drop the pounds.

The Therapy

We work through any emotional issues that are stopping you from shedding those pounds.  I will be asking you to make some good positive commitments to yourself - the more you put into this process the more you will get from it!

Freeing yourself of the emotional stuff naturally makes you feel lighter and better in yourself.
You no longer need to feel that burden of guilt.

I can help you to be more in tune with your body in general - eating only when you feel hungry, eating consciously and really enjoying what you eat without the guilt. You can choose good healthy food, drink plenty of water and feel motivated to undertake gentle exercise (building upon this as you get fitter).

You take back control,
eating to live rather than living to eat!

As I have said before, there is no miracle cure. It has taken time for the excess weight to go on and it will take time to come off again.

The life changing techniques I teach you that are supported by the hypnotherapy can keep you strong and totally motivated.

Give yourself realistic targets, there is no point in saying you want to get down to 8 or 9 stone if, in adulthood, you have never been that low. Go with how you feel, if you look good, feel healthy and comfortable in your own skin you will naturally feel more confident and happier, and that's great!

Keeping Motivated

Go for loosing inches rather than pounds. Our weight fluctuates all the time. If you really must weigh yourself do it once a month, not every week! Ideally, feel liberated and throw those scales out of the window! Alternatively, buy an item of clothing that you really like in a smaller size and 'shrink' into it - you can use some positive imagery here, and 'see' yourself wearing it! One day it will happen.

Hungry or thirsty? It is dificult to tell the difference, if you feel hungry at a time when you don't normally have something to eat, have a drink (preferably of water), if you still feel hungry 30 minutes later then have a healthy snack. Never skip meals, have a little and often. Don't eat out of habit - we are programmed into thinking breakfast is the most important meal of the day!  However, if you are not particularly hungry first thing, have your 'breakfast' at a time to suit you, when you really do feel hungry!

Look out for danger spots during the day - these are usually around mid morning or mid afternoon when our energy levels become low - prepare for these times by having healthy snacks available.

A Word of Caution

Be aware of food cravings - these can be indicative of food allergies or intolerances to certain food products or types - it is always a good idea to have this checked.

A note here to chocoholics/crispaholics - aversion therapy can be used to get you off the chocolate or crisps, but it is not to be undertaken lightly. If you really are unable to keep it to just the occassional treat, then this could be an option for you.
